West Grove, PA — On Saturday, August 17th, Optical On Point held a successful Vision of Hope Mission, offering vital eye care services to the community. Supported by volunteers from the Opticians Association of Pennsylvania and the local community, the event highlighted the need for accessible vision care in the West Grove area.
The volunteer team, consisting of an optometrist, opticians, and technicians, provided personalized care for every participant that included testing for visual acuity, refractions, and eyeglass fittings. This event provided 21 members of the West Grove community who participated with prescription eyeglasses. Many of these individuals required significant vision correction and had limited access to eye care. With the help of Vision of Hope, the Opticians Association of Pennsylvania, and Optical on Point, these community members received much-needed vision care.
The event underscored Optical On Point’s commitment to the local community and its mission to make vision care accessible for everyone. Local residents expressed heartfelt appreciation, as routine eye care is important for maintaining overall health, but can be difficult to obtain in some underserved communities.
“Hosting the Vision of Hope Foundation’s West Grove Mission was a natural extension of what we love to do at Optical On Point,” said Josh Cook, owner of Optical on Point and Opticians Association of Pennsylvania President. “There was such a tangible positive atmosphere and a strong sense of camaraderie and fulfillment.”
Marta, a bilingual technician who pre-tested each patient for the doctor, shared her experience as well. “It made my heart happy to be able to help people” she states. “I enjoyed welcoming them and setting them at ease.”
Looking ahead, Optical On Point plans to make the Vision of Hope Mission an annual event, with hopes to expand services and outreach even further. The team is already considering ways to enhance next year’s initiative, ensuring continued support for those in need.
